Wanaka is located in the Otago region of New Zealand’s South Island and offers breathtaking views of snowcapped mountains and the picturesque Wanaka Lake. When you stay at our Wanaka holiday park you’ll have easy access to all the best Wanaka activities. If you are coming from Queenstown consider taking the Crown Range Road to get to Wanaka - the highest and most memorable road in New Zealand.

Our Wanaka Holiday Park is just a 10 minute walk to Central Wanaka and a 5 minute walk to the Wanaka lakefront. Two world class ski resorts are located within 45 minutes and plenty of hiking and biking trails are within easy reach.

Water Activities

Kayaking or paddleboarding on Lake Wanaka is undeniably one of the best things to do in Wanaka. Choose from short rental options or opt for a fully guided adventure on the lake. If you want to get the adrenalin pumping consider the thrill of high-speed jet boat rides on the Clutha River.

Walking Trails

From family friendly strolls to steep and strenuous hikes, Wanaka offers a trail to suit everyone. The Diamond Lake Track is a short and mostly flat walk with spectacular views. Roys Peak Hike takes about 5 hours and if you persevere with the steep incline you'll be reward with magnificent views at the top.

Snow Sports

There are snowfields located just 45 minutes from the park. There’s something for everyone at the Cardrona Ski Field with lessons, kid’s club and gondola rides. Treble Cone is the largest ski area in the South island and has long runs and legendary off-piste terrain surrounded by incredible views.

Wanaka Tree

The famous willow tree is located at the southern tip of Lake Wanaka. The Tree sits alone in the water and is popular spot for photographs. A visit here is one of the most popular things to do in Wanaka.

Wanaka Lavender Farm

If you are wondering what else to do in Wanaka besides adventure activities then consider a visit to the beautiful flower fields at the Wānaka Lavender Farm! Play a garden game, relax over a cup of herbal tea and interact with the friendly resident farm animals.

National Toy & Transport Museum

Housing one of the largest private collections in the world, this museum features four major buildings housing over 600 vehicles, 20 aircraft and over 60,000 toys! A great family friendly activity no matter what the weather outside is doing.

Rob Roy Glacier Track

You'll start the journey with a 1 hour drive from Wanaka through the beautiful Matukituki Valley into Mt Aspiring National Park. From there you'll start the half day adventure which brings you up close with active glaciers.

Mountain Biking

The Wanaka region offers both beginners and experts a network of 750km of mountain biking tracks. Enjoy the great outdoors and stunning New Zealand scenery on a mountain bike trail or cycling track around Wanaka.

Puzzling World

Puzzling World is an iconic Wanaka attraction that has been operating since 1973. Boasting the world’s first ‘Mega Maze’, 5 illusion rooms and a huge puzzle café, the whole family will love Wanaka’s wonderful world of weirdness.

Our current reception office hours are 8.00am – 7.30pm. If you know you will be arriving after hours, please let us know. We can then arrange for a late arrival pick up for key and/or gate pass.

Check in is from 2pm, check out before 10am (rooms as well as sites). If you require an early check in or a late check out, please contact Reception and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Yes, we have free, unlimited Wi-Fi throughout the park.

The kitchens are fully equipped with ovens, hobs, microwaves, toasters, hot water zip and fridge freezers. Both have indoor seating and tv’s. Please note, cookware and crockery are not provided but kitchen sets can be hired at reception.

Yes, we have a laundry room with tap and go washing machines and dryers.
